As 99.99% of practitioners will be aware, the ATO is transitioning how tax professionals access its online services, from AUSkey to myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).

From the morning of Monday 16 March, how practitioners access the Departing Australia Superannuation Payment (DASP) online system for funds will change. AUSkey will no longer be a log-in option. Instead, users will need to use myGovID and RAM.

The ATO is encouraging DASP online system users to move to the new credential as soon as possible to prevent any disruption when accessing this service.

It acknowledges the short notice this change gives funds and their service providers, and to assist is holding targeted webinars, providing instruction guides, videos and manuals along with direct and tailored support.

Webinars will be held on Wednesday 4 March at 3.00pm and Tuesday 10 March at 1.00pm AEDT.

In an alert to practitioners, issued as ATO “CRT Alert 003/2020” (the CRT merely stands for “client relationship team”) released 3 March 2020, the ATO offers the following advice.

For active users of the DASP online system with more than 20 applications a month who haven’t started the transition to myGovID and RAM, the ATO says it intends to contact the authorised person in the fund to offer direct support.

The ATO however announced in its CRT Alert that those with fewer than 20 applications a month will need to transition to myGovID before 16 March 2020. “The principal authority (an associate or equivalent listed on the Australian Business Register) will need to set up their myGovID and then log in to RAM to link their ABN. Once the ABN is linked, you can start setting up and manage authorisations for your fund,” the ATO says.

Instructions are available at these links:

If the principal authority is a non-individual associate and has five or fewer ABNs to link, contact the ATO for help on 1300 287 539 (Option 3 RAM assistance). If there are five or more ABNs to link with non-individual associates, follow the ATO’s instructions for linking ABNs in RAM and lodge a form via email for support.

Note: Friday 27 March is the last business day AUSkey will be operational for all other ATO services. Direct any questions or requests for assistance to transition to myGovID to SPREnablingservices@ato.gov.au
